Interest based targeting in Facebook just got improved and it’s now even more important to implement.
The members of our social media team always like to joke about how every time we log into our Business Manager, Facebook Pages and Ad Accounts there seems to be something new that Facebook has added or updated. This can sometimes be frustrating but it’s great to know that Facebook is always looking to improve their platform and we are certainly ecstatic to see their most recent update!
At J Miller Marketing we utilize interest targeting when creating our Facebook target audiences. Interest may include things people share on their Timelines, apps they use, ads they click, Pages they like and other activities on and off of Facebook and Instagram. This helps to ensure we are targeting the correct people with our ads. In the past we would base the performance of our selected interest on the performance of the ads overall because there was no way to see which selected interests were leading to the results… until now! Facebook just launched a feature whereby it grades the past performance of interests selected for ads.
This will help us (and all marketers) utilizing Facebook Advertising and interest targeting polish their target audiences to help reach the best people possible and make your ad dollars work as hard as possible!
