Getting Creative With Creative Content
Any small business owner will tell you, time-savers are game-changers! You are responsible for so many different tasks when owning a business, making it hard to find time for things like social media management and blog content. Companies often push this to the back of the list and don’t fully embrace communicating with their customers on social media. So, how can we make content management easier?
Any small business owner will tell you, time-savers are game-changers! You are responsible for so many different tasks when owning a business, making it hard to find time for things like social media management and blog content. Companies often push this to the back of the list and don’t fully embrace communicating with their customers on social media. So, how can we make content management easier?
Use Content With Dual Purpose
Take full advantage of the content you are creating. If you are creating a blog post, don’t just leave it on the website. Use it as content for social media pages or in an email newsletter. That way your information is reaching your customers wherever they may be, and you also never look like you are going “dark” on any one platform. You can also call out different main points or facts from blog posts to create several different social media posts. This gives you more content from one article, and can give a quick summary over several posts for someone who might not read it otherwise.
Reuse Past Content
But don’t just copy and paste! There are times you can rework content you have used previously to keep it relevant - and save you time from having to create something new if you are in a time crunch. Examples of appropriate ways to reuse content:
Sharing a memory of a past post and adding something to it: in the example of a retail clothing brand it could look something like this, "we are still obsessed with this timeless outfit we shared last year. 😍 Don't let great finds like this get away from you - shop today and find your new outfit obsession". Or you could share memories of team builders or client events.
Updating a previous fact shared: for example, you may have shared a statistic from a certain year. You could share the post, and create a poll asking your followers how they think that statistic has changed for the current year.
Re-sharing a post that has timeless information: for example, if you have something that is very relevant to your market or brand and is important for your engagers to remember, you can reshare with the comment asking them to always keep it in mind.
Leverage Relevant Market Articles
If you find a relevant article or video that connects to your brand, feel free to use it as long as you have permission and clearly call out your source. Another great option would be to write an original article about the topic from your own company's perspective. It shows your brand does the research to stay up to date on current events relating to your market and that you know how to accurately interpret them to fit your clients and company.
Share Your Team
This one is a great time saver! Taking a quick picture and sharing some information about your team is always a great option. It puts personality with your brand and allows your clients to connect on a more personal level. Family and close community members who are on social media usually like to engage with these types of posts.
These are just a few ideas to stay on top of your social media and blog content with ease! Make sure to schedule in advance if you can in order to avoid going silent and leaving your audience wanting more. Sometimes it’s hard to stay creative with your social media content, but these tips can save you time while you build your company and your brand.
